History of our Guild and Links

The North Country Potter's Guild was formed in 2002 to promote the art and craft of ceramics in the community and to provide a forum for local potters to share their experiences and knowledge of clay.

Through meetings, guest speaker presentations, nationally known artists' workshops, member's demonstrations, field trips, annual shows and sales, outreaching to the communities and schools with demonstrations and workshops for children and adults, and artist in residency programs, the Guild is active in its' quest to make ceramics available to our region.

Members give to the communities in the area by donating and volunteering their arts and craft abilities to share with others.  The ceramic artists involved in the Guild have a varied approach to ceramics - some functional potters, some 3D ceramists - which allows for the medium to be pushed to the limit.

Many of the members have studios, some are professional artists who make a living making ceramic work, and some are without studio space available and need to rely on fellow artists for use of their studios and equipment.

Our membership varies in numbers and backgrounds.  Generally we have approximately 15-20 ceramic artists.  We welcome new members and are always available to bring clay and people together.
