| Jackie Sabourin is a local studio potter and
retired art teacher. She maintains her studio at her house - the Stone
Ledge Pottery. Jackie is mainly a functional potter using both
earthenware and mid-range stoneware, but does do small sculptural work,
which can be viewed at her Stone Ledge Sculpture Garden, a
several acre garden exhibiting more than 15 artist's work. She is
also an art in education volunteer in area schools, art centers, while
hosting small classes for children and adults in her studio. With
a friend 4 years ago, she helped found the North Country Potter's Guild
and facilitates the meetings and some events, with other potter's help.
Jackie enjoys spending time in her studio, using color on her work, which embellishes her love for organic material and texture. She enjoys tile making and has many tiles installed in area homes and businesses in the North Country. She likes the challenge of commissioned work and spends part of her studio time involved doing them. She and her husband manage the Stone Ledge Clay Company, a small business that holds an inventory of clay, glazes and small tools, but can also access larger equipment as well for both individuals and schools. Jack welcomes visitors to her studio and sculpture garden. Jackie Sabourin |
